Office Style

ForThe Girls in Your Office..

One of my saying that I saw and I try to live by:  If I am reinventing my business life, I will also reinvent how I dress for it....and it does not always have to cost a fortune to look good.

What you wear speaks volumes about you to your current and prospective employers.

Dressing 101

Ill-fitting or too-tight clothes and casual ensembles make you look lazy or sloppy. "If you are wearing a blouse, absolutely no cleavage, and if there is any gap between the buttons, put on a shell underneath.

A few basic office fashions for women: a black suit, black dress, a gray skirt and a few solid colored shirts.
Appropriate casual dress includes "blazers, sports jackets, collared shirts, pressed trousers, casual skirts(nothing above the knee) and smart casual trousers, and  sweaters. Women who wear sundresses to the office must keep a cardigan or jacket at their desk so that they can throw it on if they have a client meeting.
'If you wear open-toed shoes or sandals, make sure your toes are manicured.'  No matter how good a job you are doing, looking the part is very important. People will never forget if you look sloppy,'"
When it comes to dressing for an interview, the consensus is that conservative is best. "Dressing conservatively means you care on a couple of different dimensions,". "One, you're making an effort; two, you're making an effort not to offend; three you're polite and respectful."
