Couple of Tips for What kind of Hat fits You

Hats aren't just for the summer or when you are having a bad hair day.  They are for all occasion as long as you know to put the assemble together.  You don't have to look like a model when you wear your hats just look good.  Make sure that your hat not only fits your head but it also fits your face.  If you are wearing a round and your face is round that wouldn't be a great match.  All that does is make you face and head look bigger. You can wear a round hat but it can't fit close to your head it needs to be a little bigger and rounder like the hat in the picture.

Now, this hat is made for the lady that wants to look sexy and stylish at the same time.  When your face is of a square shape the dip to one side is best for you look.  It gives you cover for the bad hair day without you looking bad.

The TIP of today is hats are great for all occasions just make sure it right for you head and face.

Kitchen Island

Design Pointers for Planning a Great Kitchen

  • Start with the look You want:  You can match existing cabinets for a unified look. And a portable island and it will become the focal point of your kitchen
  • Map the island's footprint:  Bigger isn't always better.  You'll need to be able to open the dishwasher without blocking traffic, or reach the range without a long walk.
  • Plan for seating:  If you have the space make it so you have some hangover so peoples legs will be able to comfortably at the island.
  • Remember the trade-offs:  Built in appliances and sink use up under counter space and can get in the way if you use the way if you use the island as a serving area.

  • Pick your height:  Standard counter height is 36" but 42" bar height surface hides the view of kitchen clutter from a family or dining room.

How To Dress When There's A Dress Code

Black Tie Affair

This the time to carry out the fantasy of who you want to be or who you want to look like.  Wear bold colors, wear fabulous jewelry, wear anything that helps you make a statement and a grand entrance.  This kind of event requires that a man wear black tie attire, but this is the time for you to come out of the cocoon.  Don't be just another woman in a long black gown jazz your look up and be different.  You never want to blend in with everyone else be the one who sets the standards.

Dressy Casual

This means pants are okay but no jeans.  Fun tops are great but please don't wear T-shirt.  It's always great to know what kind of event you are going to and that will determine your outfit.

Renovating Small Spaces

When renovating a small space you must remember that dark colors will only make the space look even smaller.  You should always get pieces of furniture that will make the room appear larger than it really is.  Your walls should be a lighter color and you baseboards and crown molding should pop this will make the room look longer and taller.  Make sure that the room is a reflection of you and your personality because if it isn't you will never enjoy spending time in it.  And, you renovated the space so that you would be able to enjoy it and show it off to friends and family.  It takes time to figure out how you want the space to look and the pieces of furniture you really want so before you take on the project plan, plan and plan some more.  Because if you don't know where you are going with the renovation you will surely go over the budget.  And, once you have made up your mind don't change it because that will only make the renovation go on longer than you or the contractor planned.  So, get up off that chair and started doing the renovation you've been thinking about for months or even years.

And if you don't know where to started start with the small things that you can do yourselves and then move to the bigger ones that you may need help with.  Don't be afraid to ask for help from your friends and family because most of the time they may know a better or quicker way to get to your goal.  While HAPPY RENOVATING!!!!

Office Style

ForThe Girls in Your Office..

One of my saying that I saw and I try to live by:  If I am reinventing my business life, I will also reinvent how I dress for it....and it does not always have to cost a fortune to look good.

What you wear speaks volumes about you to your current and prospective employers.

Dressing 101

Ill-fitting or too-tight clothes and casual ensembles make you look lazy or sloppy. "If you are wearing a blouse, absolutely no cleavage, and if there is any gap between the buttons, put on a shell underneath.

A few basic office fashions for women: a black suit, black dress, a gray skirt and a few solid colored shirts.
Appropriate casual dress includes "blazers, sports jackets, collared shirts, pressed trousers, casual skirts(nothing above the knee) and smart casual trousers, and  sweaters. Women who wear sundresses to the office must keep a cardigan or jacket at their desk so that they can throw it on if they have a client meeting.
'If you wear open-toed shoes or sandals, make sure your toes are manicured.'  No matter how good a job you are doing, looking the part is very important. People will never forget if you look sloppy,'"
When it comes to dressing for an interview, the consensus is that conservative is best. "Dressing conservatively means you care on a couple of different dimensions,". "One, you're making an effort; two, you're making an effort not to offend; three you're polite and respectful."

Make-Up Shouldn't Look Like it's There

Ladies, let's talk about how you wear your make-up.  Make up should be an accent not a whole new face for you.  Me and a girlfriend were talking the other day about how some women wear to much make-up to the point where if they decided to go a day without make-up you would never know who they were. What we were saying is when you have on make up it shouldn't be the only thing that people talk about when they see you come in a room or leave out of a room.  There's lots of bold colors for you to wear but you need to think about what and how you put make-up on.  Your make-up should be light and natural it should never and I mean never look like it's just layered on your face.  This is when it look likes you are hiding something like bad skin, uneven skin tone, etc..  Also, you must clean your brushes at least once a week and change out your make-up at least 3 to 4 months.  Bacteria is something you need to be aware of because it can cause your skin to break out and that's not what you want to happen.

So, Ladies think of it like this if your make-up doesn't look like you don't have make-up on then you have on to much.  Take it off and started over again!!!!

What's The Correct Way To Dress When Going Out Doing The Day

"The Way You Dress is the Standard that You Set for Yourself..."

Over my many years in this fashion industry I've learned that the saying "First Impression is a Lasting Impression".  Most people don't think about how their look will effected the way people see them or judge how qualified they are to help them in a professional environment.  What you put out is what you get back in this world.  It doesn't matter if you are a business owner, entrepreneur, or a homemaker you need to always look your best because you never know who or what will come you way to change your life.  You may say that it doesn't matter what you look like you can still make a difference in someones life. That's not the truth I wish it was but it's really not people are attracted to the way you look and speak.  Yes, my friends it's the "Way You Dress is the Standard that You Set for Yourself".  So, please check yourself out before you leave the house.  You don't always have to be dressed to the hill but you must be dress to impress at all times.  Take it from me just try it for 30 days and see how different people will treat you.  If it doesn't work comment 30 days from now and let me know what happens. Good or Bad I want to know what happens with you 30 days makeover.

It's Not About The Money

Fashion is expensive, Style isn't:

Some of the most stylish girls I know are certainly not the wealthiest.  Ironically, it's ofter the girls with less money who seem to understand style the best.  Maybe it's because they are forced to be picky and can't slavishly follow the trends.  Maybe it's because they have perfected the art of mixing their more expensive items with their cheaper finds.  Or maybe it's because they know where to splurge and where to save.

Cheap Thrills:

  • White Hanest T-Shirts:  Laid back and great for mixing.  Best when taken from your boyfriend's or husband's drawer
  • L.L. Bean Tote:  Simple, chic, and functional
  • A White Button Up:  Will go with anything
  • Khaki Pants:  Perfectly classic. Just don't go pleated
  • Vintage Pieces:  Cheapest when taken from your mother's closet

Animal Prints

Ladies Ladies Ladies, when you are wearing animal prints make sure you are wearing the print not the print wearing you.

Make certain the item you reach for compliment you whatever age you are, as it can easily overpower your look if you aren't careful.  Here's a tip for each age....

Twenty Something

The limit on wearing any print, from cheetah, leopard, zebra, tiger, or giraffe, are far off in the distance.  If you are skinny girl try an animal legging beneath a solid tunic.  You may want to push the envelope a little and wear a animal print miniskirt, which can boost a simple black jacket and black knee boots to new style heights.

Thirty Something

A wrap dress calls out from the wild.  Younger women maybe losted in such a full bodied print.  You on the other hand, have seen a bit more of the world so it's okay with the curves you have.  Since the statement will be large, nearly head to toe, go red, black, or flesh-toned with your accessories to tastefully balance the look.

Forty Something

You need to get your hands on a wonderful animal print trench coat or jacket of great quality.  These coats paired with a fresh white T-shirt and black pants give the look of endless style.

 Fifty and Beyond
Animal Prints are very old to you.  So you need to get a smaller accent piece.  Your shoes or a wide belt would be great in the animal print on top of a cream or black skirt.  Or maybe a simply long, silky scarf in a metallice animal print of you choose.  This is style done correctly.

Your Bra and Panties Can Make or Break Your Outfit

The Most Important Part of Your Outfit

I was out shopping today and there it was the four cheek in one under garment.

I don't know why any lady would purchase under garments that don't fit her bottom or wear under garments that are too small.  It's not an attractive look know matter what you may think all it does is show how little you know about putting you clothes together.  Don't be afraid of a thong it can give you that smooth look and makes the item you wear look awesome such as pencil skirts, form fitting dresses or a great pair of slacks.  It's really not a sexy look it's really a very tacky look and it always take away for your outfit.

Also, ladies the other thing you must watch out for is purchasing a bra that is to small.  There's a difference between push-up and to small.  And when you are wearing a bra that is too small it shows.  You ask how do you know if your bra is too small?  Well, when you breast are hanging out the top, side and the bottom it's really time for you to purchase a new bra.  Not only is your bra too small it should be very unconformable because you have to keep adjusting it.  So, to help you feel better and help you stop wearing those to small bras and saying there push up bras because they aren't.  A push up bra lifts you up and fits your breast very well and nothing will be hanging out they will just be pushed up correctly.   So, remember your under garments or just as important as your out garments.

And please stop going to work looking like you don't have a clue to what you are wearing.   You should always look professional when at work it could make the difference between getting a promotion and staying in the same position forever.

Remember, when you are wearing white clothes put on black under garments.

How to Look at Shoe Styles when Shopping

Can a Woman have too may pairs of shoes? I think not.  However, you can't afford everything, so here is some advice to help you choose what to put in your closet and what to just lust after in the shop.
Platform Soles
Platform Soles are an absolute godsend for any woman.  They allow you the sky scraping height o a serious stiletto, but with some much needed added comfort.  Here's how it works:  the extra height given by the platform sole of the shoe is taken off the ridiculous height of the heel.

Straps
Ankle straps may add security when you're out and about, but they have a horrible habit of turning your lovely ankles into thick, and chunky.  An ankle strap is perfectly great as long as it's at the top of your foot, well under your ankle.  No higher!!!
Boots
High top boots for winter is an essential part of your wardrobe and it's easy to dress up or down.  Make sure the length finishes just below your knee.  Any high could look trashy and any lower will make you look short.

Pumps
Nude colored pumps are an invaluable addition to any wardrobe.  They can be worn with any outfit to any occasion and have serious leg lengthening capabilities.  A pair of black pumps are also a wardrobe staples, look for patent ones rather than matte black leather.  The shiny leather is ultra glamorous and very practical.

Wedges
Wedges are the answer to every woman's prayers.  They give you the height and the glamour of high heels, but with stability of a little kitten heel.  If you have wobbly ankles and are really nervous about wearing heels, Wedges would be the heel for you to have in your closet.

So, ladies when choosing you next pair of shoes remember what I've said here....Great Shoe Shopping

How to Wear Toppers in your 40s

The Short and Long of it is that you can now "Pull Off Just About Anything"

  • The right coat or jacket will cover many of your Mistakes:  A long belted look or jaunty swing version can hide the fact that you're totally dressed down underneath.  This is a great way to still look put together when you've just zipping out to rent a movies or pick up the kids from school.

  • Let your Blazers come undone:  There's an appealing and languor to a structured look that's more relaxed than razor sharp.  It is meant for dressier occasions, though, not for business or your job.  Pair with body conscious dress.

  • Luxe leathers are the way to go:  Store your studded motorcyclers for your daughter's rebellious years and go in for sleek versions, perhaps in something other than black.

  • Mini and Maxi:  And when you open up your hall closet in the morning, you should be able to play eeny-meeny-miny-moe with all the great looks you've now amassed.

You've Come, You've Saw, and You've Conquered all Lengths

How to Pick a Great Pair of Shoes

Induldge in the transformative powers of footwear.  In one week, you can be seven or more fabulous versions of yourself..  Here are a few tips for getting the right shoes for your LEGS:
  • Chunky heel or skinny heel?  If you are a devoted shoe lover who changes her looks with the seasons, you are constantly having to switch between a thick heel and a slimmer one.  The key is buying the right kind of both that will outlast fashion's whims.  A thicker heel is really only OK if you have thinner calves and ankles, otherwise, it will just look clunky.  On the other hand, anyone can pull off a skinnier shape that elongates the legs.

  • Low can also look great to:  Dressed up flats will give your feet a rest but won't compromise on the look you want to achieve.  A printed number will make a pencil skirt pop or give a flared skirt a vintage feel.

  • Explore the exotics, whether real or fake, like croc and snake:  Create instant visual luxury and are added bonus neutrals that go with pretty much.
Helpful Hint:  You can never have to many shoes in your closet.  Just remember you don't always have to pay full price for your shoes..
