Introduction Etiquette

It is now the Holiday Season there are tons of Holiday Parties, Community Fundraisers and Networking Events scheduled all over town. If you are attending any of these events having proper etiquette is a must. If you have not taken an Etiquette class like most people, here are some easy tips for proper introductions.

Tip 1.
While networking remember to introduce yourself first before asking the other person's name.
Never walk up to someone and say, "What is your name?"
Always start with, "Hello, my name is John Brown."

Tip 2.
If a man and a woman is present, always introduce the man to the woman first. Example, "Mrs. White I would like for you to meet Mr. John Brown."

Tip 3.
Remember when doing introductions always pronounce the person's full name. Never introduce giving only the first name.
Proper name introduction would be: Mr. White or Mr. John White.

Tip 4.
Always give respect to older individuals. A younger person should always be introduced to the older person first. An example would be, "Mr. White I'd like for you to meet my son Jack Brown.

Tip 5.
A less prominent individual should be introduced to a prominent individual. Ex: Mr. Mayor I would like for you to meet Mr. John Brown.

Tip 6.
Never introduce one person using an adjective like " My Best Friend". It could be considered rude if another friend is standing near.

I hope these tips can be helpful to ease the burden of awkward introductions.

To Weave or Not To Weave: That's the QUESTION?

Very Bad Weave Jobs

Great Weave Job

When wearing a weave it should never look as if you are wearing one.  Your weaves should always move if your weave doesn't then you need to get rid of it.  When you have a weave and not one says anything about it other than tell you your hair looks great.  This is when you have a great weave and it looks very natural.  A woman's hair is her crown and glory and it should always look the part.  Remember, a bad weave is like bad surgery you'll never forget it and neither will your friends and family.  Please ladies and men get it right the first time then you don't have to do it twice.  Your hair is just another accessories so make sure that accessories looks great at all time.  If you don't know what a bad or great weave looks like check out these  weaves and then check your weave out to see where you are at....

Know Your Shape & Style

Find the Perfect Fit:  Their secret to looking great is choosing clothes that look like they were designed around your body..  Here's a few tips to help you with this...
  1. Before you even enter a store, know yourself....  What cuts and silhouettes accentuate your figure and what color complements your skin tone..
  2. Remember every trend isn't for everyone .... Once you know what cuts look good on you, stick with them.  There are enough new clothes every season for everyone.
  3. No two bodies are created equal... What looks great on someone else doesn't necessarily work for you and vice verse....
  4. Tailoring is tops...  Getting something altered, hemmed, or nipped in here and there can transform an item from simply good to absolutely perfect.  It's worth it even for your jeans

Costly Doesn't Always Mean Style

Ladies and Gentlemen, just because you spend a lot of money on an outfit doesn't mean you will have a stylish look.  Many people send lots of money on clothing and they have know style at all.  When you are purchasing a piece of clothing it's not how much it cost it's how does it look on you silhouette.  I know lots of people with lots of money but when it comes to style and fashion they have neither one.  So before you go out and send lots of money on clothes make sure it's something that looks stylish and looks great when put with other items of clothing you have.  You should always be able to wear one item with more than one outfit if not get rid of it.  You must be able to change your look and still be stylish.  So, look in those closet and see what you can get rid of because there's someone out there that would look great in those items.  Just because it cost don't make it stylish look at the example...

Just a Tip:  Everyone isn't born with the gift of style that's why we have image consultant to help those who are style challenge.

What is a Great Dress for Apple Body Type

The Fabric should be light.  Color or pattern needs to be dramatic or distinct.  The bodice must fir close, then unfold gently at the waist, and the skirt or bottom of the dress should flow down to the ankle, but never above the knees.  Parameters may sound strict yet when done right the full-skirted dress transforms the reserved into the romantic.  This is a hot look for any women with the apple body type.  It can also work on a pear shaped body type.  This look will always be in style and when you have a awesome pair of shoes and the right accessories you can't go right.

Season Change and So Should Your Make-up Women

As you know women our skin goes threw seasonal transitions.  Most of the times we neglect the importance of proper skin care and that isn't good for our skin at all.  So, always started with a basic cleaning regiment followed by a good conditioner based on your skin type.  There are several skin care products out here you must choose the one that fits your skin type best.

Also, Ladies when you are picking out your make-up make sure that you test your colors.  The way to do that is to take a little bit of the make-up and put it on the jaw line or the front of your hand.  Make sure you blend, blend, blend and again blend the color in to your jaw line or the front of your hand to see if that is the color for you.  This will help you to always get the right make-up and stop you from having that line around your face that lets everyone know that you have make-up on.

I hope this helps with the cleaning of your skin and the applying of your make-up.  Smooooooches

How To Get A Handle on Your Handbag Wardrobe

In a way the modern woman's handbag is like her armor. It's one of the first things you notice or not, depending on her choice of bag, and every bag says something about the lifestyle, sense of aesthetcs, and personality of the woman wearing it. Black says safe, color says individualistic, crocodile say luxury, nylon says practical, animal print says notice me, a little print says sweet, handheld says prissy and over the shoulder says no fuss. NOTE: If you are serious about building a collection of handbags in classic shapes, investing in one good bag per category makes the most sense. Your bags should be well made and of high quality material. If not please leave it in the store because a cheap handbag will soon show it's true worth.

How To Buy a Classic Pearl Necklace

1. Shape: Pearls are round by definition therefore, the rounder the pearls in a strand the better.

2. Hue: Experience teaches that different people favor different hues. Like fair-skin women look good in a pearl that's whiter & other skin types look better in silver hue.

3. Length and Size: The right length depends on the neck, decollete, shoulders and of course the clothes. The classic lenght is 17 to 19 inches which is called princess lenght. It suits high or low necklines.

4. Luster: The surface and nacre of a pearl is important.

5. Consider the Classics: For a classic look, stick to Japanese pearls, South Sea pearls, and Tahitian pearls.

6. Presentation: Pearls are stung with a knot separating each pearl from the next, so that if the strand breaks, you may at most have to look for one.
