Is Your Mudroom Room Looking Disorganized?

MUDROOM
If your entry is full of shoes, backpacks, hats and coats, make a mudroom by the back door.  Here's a few tips to get you started.
  • Pick one side of the back door entry and make that your place for hanging hooks for everyday storage. These hooks will hold your sweaters, hats and backpack. Make sure you have some of the hooks high enough for the tall people and some lower for the kids.  If all of your kids are young you may want to make name tags for them, this way they have an assigned place for there items.

  • You can purchase a bench and get some storage baskets to put under the bench to add storage for shoes, toys or sports equipment.  This way you and your family have somewhere to set to take off those shoes when you come home after a long day out.

  • Get a rubber boot tray so you will have somewhere to put your boots when you come in out of the rain.

  • Place a indoor-outdoor rug in front of your bench area for the high traffic that will come through that area, also this will help to keep the area clean.
